Senior Design Engineer

Nortel Networks, Sunrise , FL  Senior Design Engineer for Carrier Packet Solutions Caribbean and Latin America team. Responsible for network designs, project deployments, as well as project management. Deployed new IP network for Caribbean bank transactions and packetized voice. Led the deployment of the first full-scale deployment of a next-generation VoIP network in the Eastern Caribbean which served nine islands. Performed a large scale migration from a centralized Juniper-based router solution to a distributed virtual routing system.

Senior Systems Engineer

Nortel Networks, Raleigh NC  Senior Systems Engineer for Carrier Packet Solutions Design team. Responsible for provisioning and deployment of WAN data networks, Succession, and Passport products including 4400 series, 7400 series, and 15000. Led one of the initial trials/deployments of Passport 15000 ATM switch. Successfully integrated 15000 into new deployments using the first software release (PCR 1.0). Achieved expert level certification from Nortel with a score in the upper 5%. Participated in initial trials of ATM multi-service switch in Taipei. I was also the main speaker in a technical presentation to the customer in Taipei (over 200 in attendance) about the capabilities of their ATM network.

Software Systems Engineer APAC

Nortel Networks, Raleigh NC  Software Systems Engineer for Asia Pacific, Japan, and Europe region. Responsible for delivery of system tables for DMS-100 central office switch. Provided support for Japan regional engineers. Designed and deployed DMS-100 translations tables to enable local and long distance calls. DMS-100 translations tables include information regarding routing, billing, call screening, SS7 signaling, trunk types, and lines features. Worked with local partner to capture customer requirements and define scope of work documentation. Tested DMS-100 features specific to Asia market such as Japan ISUP to interwork with established carriers.
